Monolith Shelves
The idea of upgrading aluminum extrusions, these industrial rejects, stems from a desire to create without loss and to use the profile to its full capacity. The shelves follow the logic of a relationship between positive and negative space. According to this principle, a wave-like curve is developed. By playing on the proportions of the crests and troughs of this curve, the anchoring units are reduced so that those of the shelves are larger. The curve is then repeated on each side of the extrusion. Finally, a plasma cutting process is used to obtain four almost identical shelves.
